Do you guarantee the quality of your products?
Yes! We take great pride in the quality of all of our products and always want you to have a wonderful culinary experience. If for some reason, that's not the case we would love to hear from you directly so that we can come up with a solution that works best for you. Are all your products made in a Dedicated Gluten-Free & Nut Free facility?
Yes! Since the day we built our facility we have been a dedicated gluten free production space. As a part of the Gluten Free community ourselves we know how important it is to limit the risk of cross contamination so eliminating the risk meant keeping it Gluten Free always!

Does Alkeme use genetically modified ingredients (GMO's)?
No, all of our ingredients are free of all GMO's and we are certified with the Non-GMO Project.
Do you use 100% Organic Ingredients?
Almost! It's our company mission to be sourcing 100% organic ingredients by the end of 2021. At this time many of our ingredients are Organic and ALL are Non-GMO. If you're curious on which ingredients are Organic and which are not, we list them all very clearly on each product page.
What do you mean when you say you're 100% Plant Based (Vegan)?
This means that we are 100% made from plants and have no animal or animal bi-products within our product lines. This can be tricky for the Vegan community as the FDA states that ingredients listed under 'Natural Flavours' can be made from Animal Bi-products. Yikes. But don't worry, we don't use any additives, preservatives or natural flavours in any of our products.
Why is Alkeme bread different from other Gluten Free bread products?
It's all in the ingredients and the process. We've opted for a slow food process to develop the flavour and texture of each of our products. Alkeme's unique flavour profile hinges on our traditional fermentation process, considered to be our KEY ingredient. By using high quality Gluten Free grains (no filler rice flours, and no potato or corn products) along with our sourdough process our breads develop superior taste and texture beyond the scope of commercialized gluten free offerings.
What else can you tell me about your bread ingredients?
We don't use any rice flours, potato flours or corn flours as these are also irritants to the Gluten Free community. Also, instead of many traditional and highly refined sweeteners we prefer to use low glycemic coconut sugar.
Do your Gluten Free Bread products contain peanuts or other tree-nuts? Or any other common allergens?
No, our Gluten Free bread products do not contain any of the Top 8 Allergens. It is important to note that we do process peanuts, tree nuts, and coconut within the facility for our Mountain Bites product line. We do have processes in place to mitigate the risk of cross contamination.
How long will it take to receive my order?
For fresh bread:
All bread orders received between Monday and Thursday will be included in the next week’s production schedule and prioritized based on shipping time-frames.
All bread Orders received Friday to Sunday are guaranteed to be included in the production & shipping schedule for the week after (approx 8-9 days after order is placed. In some cases, we can accommodate weekend orders sooner, but this is not guaranteed.
Bread orders are shipped so that the expected arrival is Thursday and no later than Friday (so bread is ideally not held by shipper over the weekend). Also, we aim for all bread to arrive within 3-4 days of baking, at the latest.
We generally use Purolator for bread shipping. If you prefer a different shipping service, please add it in to your order notes or check with us.
Orders are processed within 5 business days and then shipped via courier with delivery time based on your location. Everything ships direct from our facility in Rossland, BC. Orders containing bread and other items will be shipped altogether based on the bread production & shipment time-frame.
Please note: All carriers have suspended their service guarantees until further notice due to possible delays caused by high volumes and COVID impact so their is risk of delays.

Is there shipping savings when placing a larger bread order?
Shipping is included for all orders $75+ and just $10 for orders below $75.
*Orders with Bread products outside BC and AB exclude.
What is the shelf-life and recommended storage of Alkeme's Gluten Free Bread Products?
We believe that fresh is best which is why we bake to order. Making all of our products fresh means we don't have to add non-recognizable ingredients or preservatives that contribute to unhealthy processed foods. No scientist tinkering in a lab to craft up some stabilizing agent, simply pure bread love!
When purchasing fresh breads from Alkeme, it will ship within one day of being baked. We recommend enjoying your product within ~7 days of our "baked on" date or you can freeze for up to 6 months. Storage should be maintained in a dry, cool place and avoid refrigeration as this will lead to rapid drying out of the bread.
Please keep in mind that home temperatures/humidity is varied which will effect the shelf-life. So, for best results when you thaw the bread make sure to remove any moisture that is found in the bag as that will extend the shelf-life and reduce chances of early signs of mold which would be the sign to discard.
Our breads are delicious Fresh or Frozen, simply pop them in the toaster for the best texture and flavour.
